The Legendary Kentucky Hot Brown is a classic Southern sandwich featuring layers of roasted turkey, crispy bacon, and ripe tomatoes, all smothered in a creamy cheese sauce and baked to perfection. Its a comforting and indulgent dish thats perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices thick-cut white bread
  • 1 pound roasted turkey breast, sliced
  • 8 slices cooked bacon
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish

Instructions:

Get the oven ready by heating it up to 400F 200C

Toast the pieces of bread until they get a little brown

Melt the butter over medium-low heat in a saucepan

Make a roux by stirring in the flour

Cook for one to two minutes

Slowly whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth

Keep stirring the sauce as it cooks until it gets thicker

Add pepper and salt to taste

Toast some bread slices and put them on a baking sheet

Put turkey slices, bacon, and tomato on top of each slice

Spread the sauce out on top of each sandwich

Add some grated Parmesan and cheddar cheese on top

Put it in an oven that is already hot and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese melts and bubbles

Add a sprinkle of paprika on top before serving
