Grilled BBQ Bacon Meatloaf Sandwich

The ultimate sandwich of all is this Grilled BBQ Bacon Meatloaf Sandwich. It blends the flavorful elements of meatloaf, melted cheese, crispy bacon, and zesty barbecue sauce, all of which are expertly grilled and presented in a bun. An authentic grilled barbecue delight

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and onion for garnish
  • Additional BBQ sauce for drizzling

Instructions:

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, 1/4 cup BBQ sauce, egg, salt, and black pepper

Mix until well combined

Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape them into meatloaf patties

Wrap each meatloaf patty with two slices of bacon, securing them with toothpicks

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and grease the grates to prevent sticking

Grill the bacon-wrapped meatloaf patties for about 5-7 minutes per side or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks

Brush with additional BBQ sauce while grilling

During the last couple of minutes of grilling, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and close the grill lid to melt the cheese

Toast the hamburger buns on the grill until they are lightly browned

To assemble the sandwich, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a grilled meatloaf patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and a slice of onion

Drizzle more BBQ sauce on top if desired, then top with the other half of the bun
